Nai Dunia

''NaiDunia'' (नईदुनिया), is a Hindi newspaper owned by NaiDunia Media Ltd. NaiDunia (meaning New World) was born on 5 June 1947 at Indore, just before dawn of Independent India, most aptly timed and named. Established by Freedom Fighters Pandit Krishnakant Vyas and Mr Krishnachandra Mudgal .Mr Krishnakant Vyas was its first Chief Editor also .Further Mr Babu Labhahcnd Chhajlani, Basantilal Sethia and Narendra Tiwari joined and then treaded its path to popularity in the most turbulent post-independence time.
''The Pioneer''
NaiDunia was first in Indore to install a teleprinter machine of Press Trust on 4 December 1948. NaiDunia pioneered distribution of newspaper in rural areas through Milk Vendors who traveled to Indore every morning and while going back to their villages carried NaiDunia along for distribution.
''Technical Advancement''
In 1962 NaiDunia had its own printing facility at Indore. It was period of tough competition. The team at NaiDunia was not of technocrats but at the same time was willing to adopt the best technology available globally. NaiDunia installed India’s first Rotary Offset Machine in 1967. In 1979 highly advanced photo composing set up was commissioned.
In 1987 Laser comp system was adopted and the page composing was finally shifted completely on computers in 1995. In the era of modernization NaiDunia also gave equal stress to quality and versatility of news and presentation.
''School of Journalism''
During the 70s and 80s NaiDunia also attained the stature of ‘School of Journalism’ where strongest pillars of Hindi Journalism graduated, like- Rahul Barpute, Rajendra Mathur, Abhay Chhajlani, Prabhash Joshi, Yeshwant Vyas, and many more. This was the time actually when NaiDunia touched the heights and gradually climbed the altitudes of success.
''Half a Century''
1997 marked 50 years of NaiDunia. The Golden Jubilee year was celebrated with fervor. NaiDunia had scaled new heights by then. The then President of India Shankar Dayal Sharma and Prime Ministers H.D. Devegauda and Indra Kumar Gujral attended the celebrations. In 1997 NaiDunia also became the first Hindi newspaper of India to have launched an internet edition.
''New Chapter''
After year 2005, NaiDunia spread its wings across the states of Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh. Considered as one of the most efficacious media vehicles in Central India, and enjoying a reader base that has grown substantially over the years, NaiDunia has its presence in the major cities of Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh- Indore, Bhopal (NavDunia), Gwalior, Jabalpur, Raipur and Bilaspur.
''April 2012- A New Beginning''
In April 2012, ''Jagran Prakashan Limited'' (JPL) acquired NaiDunia. JPL is India's leading media and communications group with its interests spanning across Print, OOH, Activations, Mobile and Online, covers all of India as its footprint – and is arguably among one of the largest media conglomerates in the country and still growing.
